Health Education/Promotion

Why do we provide health education on campus?

University can play a critical role in reducing students’ health risks through the delivery of effective health education. Campus health education helps DKUers to acquire functional health knowledge, and strengthens attitudes, beliefs, and practice skills needed to adopt and maintain healthy behaviors throughout their lives. We are working to create an environment in which students feel empowered to make healthy choices and create a caring community. We address issues related to disease prevention. Students are highly recommended to attend our activities.

What do we focus on?

  • Education for student to enhance their health status
  • Assist students to use health resources and health education information
  • Teach students to understand specific diseases and basic medical knowledge

We are hungry for creative and valued thoughts.

First aid training provides an individual with the proper understanding and knowledge that allows him to be able to spot potential hazards and accidents. By taking first aid training, it helps you to reflect on yourself and how you and others react in certain situations. Having a basic first aid knowledge means that you’ll be confident in your skills and abilities in relation to first aid administration.

Campus Clinic encourages all DKU students to attend this training if you have never done this before. You may save someone’s life one day if you are equipped by this skill. Also, DKU clinic has been working on providing our students certified CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training.

Sexual health education is a critical health objective for improving our campus health. Quality sexual health education (SHE) provides students with the knowledge and skills to help them be healthy and avoid human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), sexually transmitted diseases (STD), and unintended pregnancy.

Campus Clinic address the needs of DKU community, we provide health information which is accurate, appropriate, and directly contributes to health-promoting decisions and behaviors.

Use and abuse of alcohol is very common and can have serious consequences. Harmful and underage college drinking are significant public health problems. Increased stress can lead to increases in alcohol. Binge drinking can pose serious health and safety risks, including car crashes, drunk-driving arrests, sexual assaults, and injuries. Creating a safer campus and reducing harmful and underage student drinking will likely come from a combination of individual and environmental level interventions that work together to maximize positive effects.

Campus clinic arranges a number of different levels of activities to guide a healthy alcohol use, such as drunken simulation by wear goggles, and also provide talks and consulting services.
