The Zu Chongzhi Center for Mathematics and Computational Sciences invites proposals for Mathematics and Computation-related research activities for the AY 2022 – 2023. We welcome proposals on research projects, the organization of events, and innovative activities related to the mission of the Zu Chongzhi Center. Any faculty member with a full-time or primary appointment at DKU may submit a proposal. Proposals must be submitted by email to the program coordinator for the Zu Chongzhi Center, Yunqi Zhu yunqi.zhu@dukekunshan.edu.cn. Research Projects

Research projects must involve a faculty member with a full-time or primary appointment at DKU as principal investigator. Each project must involve one or more DKU undergraduate students. The role and contribution of the students to the project must be clearly described in the project proposal. Each successful project will be funded with up to 20,000 RMB. The duration of each project can be up to one year. Priority will be given to interdisciplinary projects. Each proposal for a research project can be up to 4 pages (1 in margin, 11 pt Times font) and it should include the following information:

Events

Events can be either small scale (such as small workshops or mini-courses) or large scale (such as conferences). Events must take place at DKU and be open to the wider Mathematics + Computation community outside DKU and their aim should be to foster interactions with this community. The Zu Chongzhi Center will support a limited number of such events with an amount between 20,000 RMB for small events up to 100,000 RMB for large events based on the number of successful proposals.

Proposals for events can be submitted throughout the year based on funding availability. Proposals must be submitted by email to the program coordinator for the Zu Chongzhi Center, Yunqi Zhu yunqi.zhu@dukekunshan.edu.cn. Innovative Projects

Innovative projects are activities that serve the mission of the Zu Chongzhi Center and are related to interdisciplinary research, teaching innovation, or faculty development involving Mathematics + Computation. Successful projects will be funded with up to 10,000 RMB and they must be undertaken before June 30, 2023. Priority will be given to activities that involve faculty members with a full-time or primary appointment at DKU.
