Student Research Fund

CSCC Student Research Grant (Max 2,000 USD)

Deadlines: September 30, 2022 and February 28, 2023

We welcome any China-related ideas and projects that can involve undergraduate or graduate students in research, including signature works. Please send us a curriculum vitae, a research plan (up to 3 pages) including how you can enhance student research, how you will identify the students and what the “products” you will expect from this project, with a brief description of budget. The length of the project is within two years, unless otherwise specified. Each successful research group is expected to acknowledge CSCC support in the final product and participate in a poster exhibition in the beginning of the next academic year.

  • 2022 Summer CSCC Student Research Fund (Max 2,000 USD)

We welcome any ideas and projects that can involve undergraduate or graduate students in research, including signature works. The supervising faculty member should send a one-page research plan (including how you can enhance undergraduate research, how you will identify the students, and what the “products” you will expect from this project) with a brief description of budget (during summer, student research assistants are allowed to work up to 160 hours/month). In the case that your project cannot be completed by the summer, the funding deadline can be extended.

The application is due March 15, 2022, and the result will be announced by the end of March. We will fund up to 12 Summer Research Grant this year. Each successful project is expected to participate in a student poster exhibition in the following Fall semester.

The application is on the rolling basis and the CSCC Executive Committee reviews the applications once a month. All grant proposals should be sent to Chi Zhang, program coordinator for the Center for the Studies of Contemporary China. Please contact Chi Zhang for inquiries as well.

CSCC Undergraduate Research Fund (Max 2,000 USD)
