What is the UG Advising Peer Mentor Program?

The Duke Kunshan University (DKU) Peer Mentor Program, based on a student mentoring model, provides opportunities for first-year DKU students to connect with and learn from upper-class students in the University. The Peer Mentor Program will help new students transition into and succeed in their college life.

 

Peer Mentor Roles and Responsibilities

For detailed responsibilities, please refer to the Peer Mentor Job Description. Overall, peer mentors are expected to engage in the following job components:

  • Direct mentoring to ~10 first year students.
  • Attending professional development training sessions.
  • Developing projects related to students’ academic and campus life. 
  • Assisting with the UG Advising office Operations.

Benefits of Serving as a Peer Mentor:

  • Help new students adjust to the DKU community.
  • Develop strong communication skills, student leadership skills, and other skillsets that you would like to focus on. 
  • Develop friendships and network.


How can I become a Peer Mentor?
