| DKU Indirect Cost Rate FY2015/2016 |
30% Subawards: For both parties, indirect costs (IDC) is to be charged proportionally to the modified total direct costs (MTDC, the total direct costs minus equipment purchase, patient costs) based upon the approved rate by the sponsor. In addition, Party A charges an extra portion of IDC from the transferred funds to Party B for administrative use for the whole project. This portion of IDC is to be charged under two scenarios: (1) NSFC model: The sponsor requires an understanding and agreement between the lead institution and the collaborating institution given the rate of IDC is 20% and under, in which case Party A charges 3% of MTDC of Party B from IDC of Party B. (2) NSF model: The sponsor only permits indirect costs to the portion of subawards or subcontracts that stay under $25,000 or RMB 160,000, in which case Party A charges up to $ 25,000 or RMB 160,000 MTDC at its negotiated IDC rate. |
