Jiangsu Department of Science and Technology announced a call for proposal for international cooperation on 4 February 2024. The following are the programs that DKU faculty are eligible for applying:

 

  1. Industrial technology development with collaborators in key countries:
  • Priority areas: advanced manufacturing, information and communication technology, biomedicine, new materials, new energy, ocean economy
  • Priority countries the collaborators are in: Germany, Britain, France, Japan, South Korea, Russia, US, Australia, New Zealand
  • The faculty should collaborate with at least 1 corporate registered in Jiangsu.
  • A signed and fully executed collaboration agreement or teaming agreement between DKU and the overseas entity is required.
  • The funding from Jiangsu government will be no more than 50% of the total project budget with the cap of RMB 1.2 million.

 

  1. Cooperations with entities in Hongkong and Macau:
  • Priority areas: advanced manufacturing, information and communication technology, biomedicine, new materials, new energy, ocean economy
  • The faculty should collaborate with at least 1 corporate registered in Jiangsu.
  • A signed and fully executed collaboration agreement or teaming agreement between DKU and the entity in Hongkong or Macau is required.
  • The funding from Jiangsu government will be no more than 50% of the total project budget with the cap of RMB 1.2 million.

Two NSFC programs:

  1. NSFC announced a call for proposal for bilateral cooperation program with Russian Science Foundation (RSF)
  • Priority areas: math and physics, earth science, engineering and material sciences, information science
  • Total Budget: RMB 1.5 million/project, RSF will sponsor Russian scientists
  • Project period: 2025/01/01 – 2027/12/31
  • Internal deadline: 4pm, 18 April 2024
  • Eligibility:
    • PI from China should hold senior title (associate professorship and above), and being/having been the NSFC project leading PI for at least 1 NSFC project with period longer than 3 years;
    • Russian PI should meet the eligibility requirements from RSF, and should submit the proposals to RSF at the same time;

  1. NSFC announced a call for proposal for “China-EC Talents Program” with European Commission
  • Mission: to support the international travel cost of the Chinese PI to visit the research team already sponsored by European Research Commission for 3 – 12 months.
  • Total budget: no more than RMB 30 k/project. This is only for the international travel cost in economy class flight, the accommodation cost, living costs and the research costs should be covered by the collaborators on the EU side.
  • Period: 2024/09/01 – 2026/02/28
  • Internal deadline: 4pm, 7 May 2024
  • Eligibility:
    • PI should be the project PI or participant for the NSFC project ending after 2025/12/31 with the period no shorter than 3 years.
