NSFC is calling for proposals for international collaboration programs:

  1. Guidelines for cooperative research projects with the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (EASRT)link to announcement NSFC与埃及科学研究技术院合作研究项目指南

Research Directions：

1)         Microbiology

2)         Bioinformatics

3)         Basic agronomy and crop science

4)         Plant Protection

5)         Animal Husbandry

6)         Clean energy

Award：6 grants， 2 million RMB per each for 3 years

Eligibility：

  1. Proposal PI must be a leading PI in NSFC project(s) that lasts at least 3 years.
  2. The applicant shall have senior titles such as professorship or research scientist. 
  3. The two partners have a good foundation for cooperation.

The applicant and the partner should jointly write an English application form, which should be uploaded and added to the “Attachments” in the NSFC system. The basic contents of the English and Chinese applications should be the same, and the English title of the project should be identical.

  1. Guidelines for cooperative research projects with the Russian Science Foundationlink to announcement  NSFC与俄罗斯科学基金会合作研究项目指南

Research Directions：

1)         Mathematics and physical sciences

2)         Geography

3)         Engineering and Material Science

4)         IT Technology

Award：50 grants， 1.5  million RMB per each for 3 years

Eligibility：

  1. Proposal PI must be leading PI in NSFC projects that last at least 3 years.
  2. The applicant shall have senior titles such as professorship or research scientist. 
  3. The two partners have a good foundation for cooperation.
  4. The applicant who is younger than 45 years old is encouraged to apply. 

The applicant and the partner should jointly write an English application form, which should be uploaded and added to the “Attachments” in the NSFC system. The basic contents of the English and Chinese applications should be the same, and the English title of the project should be identical.

  1. Program Guidelines for Collaborative Research Projects and Bilateral Workshops with the National Science Foundation of Iranlink to announcement NSFC与伊朗国家科学基金会合作研究项目与双边研讨会项目指南

Research Projects Directions：

1)         Energy-related areas: renewable energy, high-efficiency utilization of conventional energy, energy storage technologies.

2)         Environment: water and solid waste treatment.

3)         Regenerative medicine: bioengineering or biomaterials relevant to regenerative medicine.

4)         Award：10 grants， 2 million RMB per each for 3 years.

Workshop Program Directions:

  1. Climate change
  2. Artificial intelligence and big data in engineering and industries
  3. Advanced materials and manufacturing
  4. Award：6 grants， 150,000RMB per each.

Eligibility：

For Research Projects:

  1. Proposal PI must be leading PI in NSFC projects that last at least 3 years.
  2. The applicant shall have senior titles such as professorship or research scientist.

For Workshop Program：

  1. Proposal PI must be a leading PI or Participant in current active NSFC project(s) that lasts at least 3 years
  2. The two partners have a good foundation for cooperation.

The applicant and the partner should jointly write an English application form, which should be uploaded and added to the “Attachments” in the NSFC system. The basic contents of the English and Chinese applications should be the same, and the English title of the project should be identical.
