Department of Social Science of the Ministry of Education is calling for proposals for 2025 General Projects of Humanities and Social Sciences Research (人文社会科学研究一般项目).

Budget Total:

1. Planning Fund Projects 规划基金项目: funding support up to RMB 100,000.00.
2. Youth Fund Projects 青年基金项目: funding support up to RMB 80,000.00.
3. Self-Financed Projects 自筹经费项目: funds must be raised by the applicant from external departments, enterprises, or institutions, with a minimum self-financing amount of RMB 80,000.00

Project Period: The research duration will be three years.

Eligibility:

1. Planning Fund Project applicants must hold a senior professional title (including associate senior titles) 高级职称，含副高.
2. Youth Fund Project applicants must have a doctoral degree or a professional title of intermediate level or above (including intermediate level) 中级以上职称，含中级and must be no older than 40 years (born after January 1, 1985).
3. Self-Financed Project applicants must fill in the “Other Funding Sources” section in the Application and Review Form for General Projects of the Ministry of Education’s Humanities and Social Sciences Research (hereinafter referred to as the Application and Review Form) and upload proof of funds received, such as a receipt from the university’s financial office for entrusted research funds or a bank transfer receipt.

Quota Requirements (applicants who meet any of the following conditions are not eligible to apply for this project:):

1. Current project leaders of any ongoing Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Research projects. 
2. Applicants whose Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Research projects were terminated for any reason within the past three years or revoked for any reason within the past five years.
3. Current project leaders of any ongoing National Social Science Fund or National Natural Science Fund projects.
4. Applicants for the 2025 National Social Science Fund projects.
5. Applicants who have unsuccessfully applied for the Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Sciences Research General Projects for two consecutive years (2023 and 2024).

Application Process:

2. Applicants can download the Application and Review Form from the application system, complete it according to the provided instructions, and upload it through the system. There is no need to submit a hard copy of the application materials.
