Jiangsu Science and Technology Department (along with Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission) is calling for proposals for “2025 Provincial Frontier Technology Research and Development Plan (Health and Wellness Sector) Project Guidelines”. Please refer to the notice for details, the notice is issued by Jiangsu S&T Department, in Chinese.

Project Objective: Support the establishment of national medical centers by focusing on key core technological breakthroughs in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of major diseases. Targeting international frontiers in key areas, the initiative aims to achieve a series of innovative diagnostic and treatment technologies, methods, and standards. This effort will contribute to the development of high-level hospitals and comprehensively enhance the clinical medical standards in Jiangsu province.

What to fund: The program will be organized into two categories:

• National Medical Center Development Support Project 国家医学中心建设支撑项目
• Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment Key Technology Breakthrough Project 临床诊疗关键技术攻关项目 (partial)
  • Research and Development of Key Surgical Techniques for Early-Stage Lung Cancer Patients 早期肺癌患者外科治疗关键技术研发
  • Research and Development of Key Early Intervention and Treatment Technologies for Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases心脑血管疾病早期干预诊疗关键技术研发
  • Research and Development of Key Technologies for Biological (Molecular Targeted) Cellular Immunotherapy生物（分子靶向）细胞免疫治疗关键技术研发
  • Research and Development of Key Technologies for AI-Guided Interventional Imaging and Therapy智慧影像引导的介入诊疗关键技术研发
  • The Research and Development of Key Technologies for Immune Health Assessment and Common Disease Prevention and Treatment in the Elderly Population 老年人群免疫健康评估及常见病防治关键技术研发

Project Period: The research duration is usually no more than 4 years.

Requirements:

• The project should have clear research and development content, align with key areas and directions outlined in the guidelines, and generally have completed foundational theoretical innovations. It should also be capable of forming technologies, products, and equipment with independent intellectual property rights. Upon completion of the implementation period, the project should have practical application scenarios.
• The project should have a solid research and development foundation. The applying organization should have valid patents or other independent intellectual property rights in recent years. The project leader and team should possess high academic standards and strong innovative capabilities.
• PIs who are currently involved in ongoing provincial science and technology plan projects are not allowed to lead the application for this year’s provincial science and technology plan projects.
• The program encourages and supports young talents under the age of 40 (born on or after January 1, 1985) to take the lead or participate in the application for this planned project.
• The quota for this project is 2. If more than 2 PIs apply for this project, DKU will conduct an internal reviewing to determine.

Application Process:

1. Please send RSO all the applications by Monday, March 10, 2025. RSO will submit all applications to Kunshan Science and Technology Bureau for reviewing.  
2. After Kunshan ST reviews and approves it, PI could apply online through https://jsszkj.kxjst.jiangsu.gov.cn/js-home/home. Applicants should submit all documents along with commitment letter in the system.
