National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) are calling for proposals for collaborative research projects.

Budget Total:

• The funds from the Chinese side is 800,000-1,000,000 RMB per project (direct costs), while the funding support from the Turkish side is 3,000,000 TRY per project.
• The funding covers research expenses and international cooperation and exchange costs. During the project implementation, if exchange visits are required, expenses such as international travel, accommodation, and emergency medical insurance should be covered by the sending party.

Project Period: The research duration in the application should be filled out from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028 (three years).

Eligibility:

• The Chinese applicants should hold senior professional technical positions (titles) 高级专业技术职务（职称）and have undertaken or be currently undertaking NSFC projects with a duration of three years or more as the PI.
• Both parties have established a strong foundation for collaboration, and the project application should emphasize synergy and complementary strengths.

Quota Requirements:

• An applicant can only apply for one international (regional) collaborative research project in the same year.
• The PI who is currently undertaking an international (regional) collaborative research project cannot apply for this project as an applicant.
• Applying for and undertaking this project as an applicant or PI is not counted towards the limit of 2 projects for personnel with senior professional technical positions (titles).

  • Applicants should co-write an English application with their collaborators (the English application template can be found in Attachment 1).
  • Applicants from both China and Russia must reach an agreement on the research content, exchange and visit plans, and intellectual property issues, and sign a cooperation agreement (the template can be found here as Attachment 2).

1. • Project applications that do not submit the above required attachments will not be accepted.

Language: Chinese for PI from DKU to complete the proposal in the NSFC grants system, English for the English to be completed by PIs from both sides and submitted as a supplementary document along with the NSFC proposal.
