Chauncey Shey

Mr. Chauncey Shey is Managing Director of SBCVC Pte. Ltd. He is responsible for strategic direction, investments and portfolio management at SBCVC. Mr. Shey has extensive venture capital investment experience. He has established extensive contacts with the entrepreneur community. SBCVC’s spotlight portfolio companies include Alibaba, Taobao, Focus Media, GDS, Shenwu, Precise, Di’an, and Edan etc..

Mr. Shey is also a successful entrepreneur as a co-founder and a director of UTStarcom, Inc. (NASDAQ: UTSI). He served as UTStarcom’s Executive Vice-President from 1995 until July 1999. From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Shey founded and was Executive Vice-President of StarCom Network Systems, Inc., a telecom equipment provider, and a founder and an Executive Vice President of StarCom Products, Inc., a consulting business that developed software products and provided expertise in the fields of computers and telecommunications.

Mr. Shey was voted as “Top 10 Venture Capitalists in China” and “Top 30 Most Active Venture Capitalists” by Zero2ipo and Digital Fortune. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an M.S. in Computer Science from the State University of New York.”
